One of the first reports of a general roundup of cattle in South Dakota appeared in the May 7, 1880 edition of the Omaha Daily Bee. The paper reported that “The general roundup of stock of northern Nebraska, a portion of Wyoming, and Forsythe and Custer counties in Dakota Territory will commence May 20.”

After standing naked on Main Street for the past two years, Dixon Townhall is getting a much-needed makeover. On Friday, July 29, Dr. Jerry Fogel started the process, giving the “land office” a coat of primer.

Rescues Unlimited came into existence by the kind soul of one man’s heart. In 2001, Dale Hanna worked as an electrician traveling around South Dakota. As a Vietnam veteran, Hanna had a strong desire to good in the world.

Eli Barreto and Jordan Spann have been selected to attend the South Dakota Senior Honor Choir on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion July 31-August 5. The week of rehearsals will culminate with a public concert at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 5, in the Vermillion High School auditorium. Dr. Michael Culloton, Director of Choral Activities at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, will conduct the choir.

The regular meeting of the Gregory City Council was held at 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2022, at City Hall. Councilman Corey Graber made one correction to the minutes of the July 18 meeting, stating that he voted against the first bid awarded.

Gregory County Legion 14 - FH Hitmen 13 It came down to the wire on Tuesday, July 19, in the first game of region tournament play, with Gregory County Legion taking the victory with a dramatic walk-off sacrifice fly in a late inning that sealed their victory over the FH Hitmen 18U. The game was tied at 13 with Gregory County batting in the bottom of the seventh when Glover’s sac fly scored one run.
