Build Dakota is a highly-competitive full-ride scholarship offered to the best and the brightest students attending one of South Dakota’s four technical colleges. It is made possible by a donation from T. Denny Sanford, a commitment from Governor Kristi Noem, and support from our industry partners. The scholarship was originally established in 2015 by T. Denny Sanford and Governor Dennis Daugaard.

The Gregory Public School dismissed the students for summer vacation last Friday at 11:30 a.m..

The newly organized Sons of the American Legion will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, May 19th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Legion Post in Gregory.

It’s easy to find people who can express their opinions about the Bible while at the same time having a tight grip on the amount of their will they surrender to God. Sound familiar? In a controlled environment and at a comfortable distance many live their lives keeping God in a box and only letting Him out when they want something or have a crisis. I can write from my own experiences as I’ve lived much of my life this way. It’s only after spending years researching about the war between our carnality and God’s Spirit, have I been graciously given a glimpse of the difference between Christianity and religiosity. We could say that being a disciple of Jesus Christ is accepting God to be our master, while religion attempts to be the master of God. Instead of trying to create a concept of the way we hope He is, it would be wise to embrace Him the way He really is.

We have had both shots and are optimistic we will get through this pandemic. Its also planting season and I am headed North so the articles may be fewer. I have appreciated the positive comments from readers and ask them to pass those on to the editors of the three local papers and thank them for having the courage to publish the observations of this crazy Canuck.
