Successful 4-H Rodeo weekend ends in a saddle

Ten cowboys and cowgirls spent the past weekend at the 50th South Dakota 4-H Finals Rodeo in Fort Pierre, SD. With cooler temps and intermittent rain showers these kids competed against 640 other contestants hoping to bring home the ultimate prize of a saddle in their respective event.

South Dakota AG gets fines, no jail time in pedestrian death

South Dakota Attorney General Jason Ravnsborg pleaded no contest Thursday, August 26, to a pair of misdemeanor traffic charges over a crash last year that killed a pedestrian, avoiding jail time despite bitter complaints from the victim’s family that he was being too lightly punished for actions they called “inexcusable.’’
